About Jeannie

I'm a self-taught photographer with an incurable habit of getting lost and an even worse habit of stopping to photograph whatever I find when I do.

Beauty In Aperture is my ongoing love letter to the world's overlooked details: the laundry line in a Moroccan desert, the glaze on a bakery donut, the particular quiet of a fishing harbor at low tide. I shoot people, places, food, and the strange little objects that make a destination feel like itself.

I've pointed my camera at Morocco, Indonesia, Belize, Colombia, Ecuador, the Galápagos, the UAE, the Maldives, Mexico, the American West, Caribbean coastlines, Europe, and the streets of cities I know by heart and cities I've only had 48 hours in. The light is always different. Something is always worth stopping for.

I shoot on Fujifilm and iPhone, sometimes because one is more discreet, sometimes because one is what I had. I believe the best camera is the one that makes you pay attention.
